Where on earth?

Not the Caribbean

About a week before we came to Bermuda, we were at a pub quiz with some friends. Not a single one of them would believe us when we said Bermuda was not in the Caribbean, that it was much further north of that. They wouldn’t even believe me when I showed them Google maps on my iPhone. The only thing they would believe was their atlas.

Anyway, Google don’t lie (apart from the Nicaragua issue and the Parsley Island issue, but we’re certain they are right about Bermuda).

It is indeed 893 miles (1437 km) directly east of Charleston, South Carolina, and about 1100 miles (1770 km) northeast of Miami, Florida. Bermuda is tiny, with a land area of 20.5 square miles (53.3 sq km), it’s 22 miles long and 2 miles wide at its widest part. Teeny tiny really!

 There it is!
